Participate!!

Quilters, Fiber Artists, Surface Designers, and Folk Artists:

An exciting project will be taking place in April as part of the Newark
Museum’s Centennial Celebration. The Newark Museum Arts Workshop in
conjunction with the Nubian Heritage Quilters Guild will be creating a
quilt to help the Museum celebrate its Centennial! You are invited to
participate in this glorious Centennial Quilt Project.

Simply create a quilt block that is reflective of the Newark Museum’s history,
architecture, magnificent galleries, or world-class collections.
Inspiration can be found in the Museum’s “…exhibits of American, Asian,
African, and classical art that complement the museum’s mini zoo,
planetarium, sculpture garden, and Ballantine House”. The content of your
Newark Museum Centennial Quilt block is open to your imagination and
creativity but must measure 16″x16″ design with a half inch unfinished border
surrounding the entire block totaling 17″x17″.

The Newark Museum Centennial Quilt Project is a wonderful opportunity for
community involvement. If there are others in the textile community that
you know of who might be interested in contributing to Centennial Quilt,
please let them know. Spread the word.

The deadline has been extended to Monday, July 6. For submission instructions or further information, please email cdquiltblocks@aol.com.
